MONDAY’S RESULTS

Oklahoma City 1, NASHVILLE 3

Nashville got three in the third and made it stand up in a 3-1 win. Ariel Pena went six innings, allowing one run, and got the win. Jose De La Torre worked two scoreless and Alfredo Figaro pitched the ninth to earn the save. Pete Orr, Eugenio Velez and Matt Clark had the only Nashville hits.

Chattanooga 4, HUNTSVILLE 5

Huntsville walked off winners after scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Hector Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a home run and Nick Shaw added a double. Eric Marzec gave up four runs, two earned over five innings. Manny Barreda and Tim Dillard each followed with two scoreless with Dillard picking up the win.

Jupiter 4, BREVARD COUNTY 5

The Manatees got another dominating start from Tyler Wagner who went six innings and gave up just an unearned run. Stephen Peterson allowed three runs in his lone inning on the hill before Mark Williams worked two scoreless to earn the save. Garrett Cooper went 3-for-4 and Orlando Arcia added two singles and a walk.

WISCONSIN 4, Fort Wayne 6

Wisconsin fell to Fort Wayne 6-4. Preston Gainey started and went six innings, giving up four runs. Seth Harvey relieved Gainey and was charged with the loss after giving up two runs in 1.2 innings. Jose Pena hit his eighth home run of the year and Omar Garcia and Paul Eshleman each chipped in two hits.

HELENA 5, Billings 10

Helena was pounded by Billings 10-5. Josh Uhen started and gave up four runs in four innings. Drew Ghelfi followed took the loss after giving up four more in his only inning. Sthervin Matos extended his hitting streak to 15 games, going 3-for-5. Alan Sharkey and Mitch Meyer each singled and walked.

AZL BREWERS 4, AZL Indians 13

In Arizona, the Brewers lost to the Indians 13-4. Joshua Torres started and went three innings. He was replaced by David Burkhalter who took the loss after giving up five runs in an inning of work. Jorge Quiterio doubled for the only Brewers extra-base hit and Tanner Norton singled and drew two walks.

DSL Tigers 12, DSL BREWERS 3

The Tigers beat up on the Brewers in the DSL by a score of 12-3. Nattino Diplan took the loss after giving up six runs in 3.2 innings. Franly Mallen had two hits and Johel Atencio hit his first home run of the season.

PLAYERS OF THE DAY

Garrett Cooper (Brevard County Manatees) – 3-for-4

It’s been an injury plagued season for Cooper but he had a nice night at the plate on Monday, collecting three hits in four at bats as the Manatees first baseman.

Tyler Wagner (Brevard County Manatees) – W, 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 K

Wagner continues to scream for a promotion, going six innings on Monday without allowing an earned run as he picked up his tenth win of the season. The outing lowered his ERA for the year to 1.53 and for the month of July to 0.51.

TRANSACTIONS

The Brewers promoted catcher Connor Narron to Helena on Monday and made room by sending injured catcher Greg McCall to Maryvale. The team also announced that Brevard County third baseman Nicky Delmonico had been suspended 50 games after testing positive for amphetamines.
