Huntsville Stars pitcher Tyler Cravy was named the Southern League Pitcher of the Week.
In two starts last week, Cravy went 2-0 and allowed just one run in 13 innings of work while striking out 14 batters. The 24-year-old righty is 6-1 this year with a 1.93 ERA and has struck out 39 batters in 37.1 innings on the mound for the first-place Stars.
Jed Bradley of the Brevard County Manatees picked up Pitcher of the Week honors in the Florida State League.
On May 8th against Daytona, Bradley pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven. So far through seven starts in 2014, the former first-round pick is 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA and has racked up 42 strikeouts in 39 innings.
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers second baseman Chris McFarland was honored as the Midwest League Player of the Week.
For the week, McFarland hit .440 (11-for-25) with a double, two triples and two home runs. On the season, the 21-year-old infielder is batting .299 with six home runs and 14 stolen bases for the 16-19 Timber Rattlers.
Cravy will be back on the mound on Thursday when the Stars play host to Birmingham. Bradley’s next start for the Manatees is scheduled for Wednesday night against Fort Myers, while McFarland and the Timber Rattlers return to play on Monday night following an off day on Sunday.
