The Arizona Fall League announced the rosters for Saturday night’s annual Fall Stars Game on Monday and three Milwaukee Brewers prospects were selected to participate.
Pitchers Jacob Barnes and Damien Magnifico as well as outfielder Michael Reed were all named to the AFL West squad. In addition, infielder Yadiel Rivera was one of three players selected for the “Final Vote” and could still be added to the roster.
Barnes, a 25-year-old reliever out of Florida Gulf Coast University, has yet to give up a run in four appearances for the Surprise Saguaros, striking out eight in 5.2 innings of work.
Magnifico, a 5th round pick of the Brewers in 2012 out of the University of Oklahoma, has appeared in five AFL games, sporting a 2.08 earned run average while holding opposing hitters to a .222 batting average.
Reed, who split the 2015 season between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Colorado Springs before debuting with Milwaukee as a September call-up, has seen action in 11 contests for Surprise, hitting .211 with three stolen bases and nine runs sored.
Rivera, who also made his major league debut with the Brewers in September, is batting .433 through his first nine AFL games with two doubles, a triple, a home run and ten runs batted in.
