Spring Training Game Recap: 3/16/16

WHITE SOX 2, BREWERS 5

The Brewers welcomed back Ryan Braun on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated the White Sox 5-2 in Cactus League action. Milwaukee got on the board first when Braun singled home Eric Young, Jr. with the game’s first run. The Brewers added two more runs in the third on Jonathan Lucroy’s first home run of the spring and an RBI double by Chris Carter. Yadiel Rivera’s fourth inning double knocked in Ramon Flores and Rivera scored on a sacrifice fly to put the Brewers up 5-0. Chicago put up single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but that would be it as the Brewers shut them down from there to earn the victory. Matt Garza started and got the win, going four scoreless thanks to some stellar defense behind him and Junior Guerra picked up the save.
