SATURDAY’S RESULTS

Houston Astros 6, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 4

The Brewers dropped to 2-3 on the young season, falling to the Astros by a score of 6-4. Wily Peralta started and suffered his second loss of the year, after giving up six runs and not making it out of the fifth inning. Scooter Gennett went 2-for-4, including his third home run of the season, while Kirk Nieuwenhuis also added a homer for Milwaukee. Jonathan Villar reached base three times with a walk and a pair of singles and Yadiel Rivera finished 2-for-3 after entering the game on a double switch.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 0, Memphis Redbirds 4

The Sky Sox were shutout in Memphis, collecting just three hits in a 4-0 loss. Orlando Arcia, Michael Reed and Alex Presley each contributed a single, but that was all the offense that Colorado Springs could muster. Lefty Brent Suter got the start for the Sky Sox and took the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits in his four innings of work.

Chattanooga Lookouts 9, BILOXI SHUCKERS 5

Biloxi suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Chattanooga by a score of 9-5. Adrian Houser made his first start of the year for the Shuckers, but was roughed up for seven runs over six innings and was charged with the loss. Kyle Wren reached base three times, picking up a walk, a single and a triple in five trips to the plate and Brandon Macias added a walk, a double and a pair of RBI for Biloxi.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 9, Daytona Tortugas 6

The Manatees piled up nine runs on fifteen hits as they toppled Daytona 9-6 behind starter Kodi Medeiros. The former first round draft choice went five innings in his 2016 debut, allowing three runs while striking out seven to notch the victory. Tyler Spurlin came on to get the final out in the ninth and was awarded the save. Catcher Dustin Houle had a big night at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run and knocking in four runs. Shortstop Angel Ortega also added three hits while Johnny Davis doubled, tripled and scored two runs.

Beloit Snappers, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS (PPD, Weather)

The Timber Rattlers and Snappers had their game postponed on Saturday. The two teams will try to play a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
