WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

Minnesota Twins 5, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 10

The Brewers scored ten runs on thirteen hits as they took their second in a row from Minnesota on Wednesday night. Starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson went 6.2 innings and earned the win for Milwaukee. Aaron Hill, Chris Carter and Domingo Santana each homered for the Brewers. They each also collected two hits, as did Ryan Braun, Jonathan Lucroy and Ramon Flores.

Nasville Sounds 4, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 5

Orlando Arcia belted his first home run of the season to give the Sky Sox a 5-4 walk-off win on Wednesday afternoon. Junior Guerra started game one of the doubleheader, going 5.1 and allowing four runs. Mitch Lambson recorded the final five outs and picked up the win. Arcia finished the game 2-for-4 with four runs batted in. Garin Cecchini went 2-for-2 with a walk and Keon Broxton added a double and a walk in four trips to the plate.

Nasville Sounds 8, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 1

Game two didn’t go quite as well for the Sky Sox, as they were beaten soundly, losing 8-1. Ariel Pena tossed three innings of shutout ball before handing things over to Brooks Hall. Hall got roughed up for seven runs in just and inning and a third and was tagged with the loss. Right fielder Ben Guez went 2-for-3 with a double for the lone multi-hit performance from the Sky Sox in game two.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, BILOXI SHUCKERS 5

The Shuckers improved to 10-3 on the season, defeating Pensacola by a score of 5-2. Drew Gagnon made a spot start and worked 4.1 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five. Stephen Peterson followed with 2.2 scoreless and picked up the win with Jay Chapman locking down his sixth save of the year. Victor Roache finished with three hits, including a pair of doubles. Nick Shaw contributed a walk and a double and Chris McFarland added a single in two at-bats.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 2, Lakeland Tigers 5

On the other end of the spectrum from Biloxi, Brevard dropped to 3-11 on the season with a 5-2 loss to Lakeland. Eric Hanhold got the start and took the loss, after going 5.2 innings and giving up three runs. First baseman Dustin DeMuth finished 2-for-4 with a double with catcher Dustin Houle reaching base three times, going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

Quad Cities River Bandits 5, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 2

Quad Cities rallied for three runs in the eighth as they toppled Wisconsin 5-2. Jon Perrin started for the Rattlers and went 5.1, allowing just two runs, but the River Bandits hung a three spot on reliever David Lucroy, who suffered his first loss of the season. Luis Aviles paced the Wisconsin offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple and knocking in both of their runs. Blake Allemand added a double while Max McDowell and Alan Sharkey each singled for the only other Wisconsin hits.
