THURSDAY’S RESULTS

Minnesota Twins 8, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 1

Taylor Jungmann went just four plus innings, walking six and allowing three runs as the Brewers fell to Minnesota 8-1 on Thursday afternoon. Milwaukee managed only five hits with Ryan Braun collecting the lone RBI. Braun and Santana each doubled for the Brewers with Jonathan Lucroy, Alex Presley and Jonathan Villar each contributing a base hit.

Nasville Sounds 9, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 8

A ninth inning rally came up just short as the Sky Sox dropped a slugfest, losing 9-8 to Nashville. Brent Suter started and took the loss after giving up six runs over five innings for Colorado Springs. Outfielder Ben Guez finished 2-for-5 with a double, home run and three runs batted in. Catcher Manny Pina had three hits and three RBI and third baseman Hernan Perez added three hits as well.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 0, BILOXI SHUCKERS 1

Tyrone Taylor hit his first home run of the season and four Biloxi pitchers combined to shut out Pensacola as the Shuckers early season roll continued with a 1-0 victory. Wei-Chung Wang started and went five scoreless for Biloxi to pick up the win. Tristan Archer and Jed Bradley combined for 3.1 scoreless innings of relief and Stephen Kohlscheen recorded the final two outs to notch the save. Victor Roache stayed hot for the Shuckers, collecting another double while Javier Betancourt and Jacob Nottingham had the other Biloxi hits.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 1, Lakeland Tigers 4

The Manatees managed just two hits in an early Thursday contest and dropped their four straight game, falling to Lakeland 4-1. Bubba Derby started and went four innings, allowing just one run while striking out five. Zach Hirsch followed and took the loss, giving up three runs in three innings of work. George Iskenderian singled, walked and stole a base while Omar Garcia managed the only other Brevard base hit.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 0, Peoria Chiefs 3

Peoria scored three runs in the first inning and that was the extent of the offense as the Rattlers fell to the Chiefs 3-0. Miguel Diaz started and was charged with the loss after going five innings, allowing three runs (two earned). Drake Owenby followed him with three scoreless frames. Max McDowell and Mitch Ghelfi each went 2-for-4 to pace the offense while Isan Diaz doubled and David Denson singled and drew a pair of walks.
