FRIDAY’S RESULTS

Philadelphia Phillies 5, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 2

The Brewers dropped the first game of their series with the Phillies on Friday night, losing by a score of 5-2. Starting pitcher Zach Davies fell to 0-2 after going six innings and allowing four runs. First baseman Chris Carter went 2-for-4 with a double and third baseman Aaron Hill also added a ninth inning double for Milwaukee.

Nasville Sounds 7, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 8

Nashville broke a 5-5 tie with two runs in the top of the ninth, but the Sky Sox responded with three of their own in the bottom of the inning to walk off with an 8-7 win. Hernan Perez led the offense, going 4-for-5 with a double and two runs batted in and Manny Pina added three hits and knocked in four runs. Orlando Arcia reached base three times, going 2-for-4 and drawing a walk. Jorge Lopez started and went three innings, allowing four runs and Mitch Lambson picked up the win, despite allowing a run in his lone inning of work.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 0, Mississippi Braves 5

Mississippi scored five runs in the first inning as they topped Biloxi 5-0, snapping the Shuckers four game winning streak. Adrian Houser started and took the loss, giving up those five runs in four innings on the mound. Martin Viramontes tossed three scoreless innings of relief and Stephen Peterson worked a scoreless eighth. Nathan Orf collected a pair of hits with Garrett Cooper adding the only other Shuckers base hit.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 1, Clearwater Threshers 2

Brevard’s offense continued to sputter as they managed just one run on five hits in a 2-1 loss to Clearwater. Brandon Woodruff went four innings and gave up just one run for the Manatees. Josh Uhen followed and was charged with the loss after allowing an unearned run in three innings of work. Johnny Davis had the lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double while Angel Ortega, Clint Coulter and George Iskenderian each added a single.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 0, Peoria Chiefs 6

Wisconsin was shut out on just two hits as they fell to Peoria 6-0. Jake Drossner started and suffered his fourth loss of the year, allowing five runs, three earned, in four innings of work. Quintin Torres-Costa and Nate Griep each worked a scoreless inning of relief for the Rattlers. Blake Allemand had the only two Wisconsin base hits but also committed a pair of errors.
