FRIDAY’S RESULTS

San Diego Padres 0, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 1

Junior Guerra, Michael Blazek, Tyler Thornburg and Jeremy Jeffress combined to shutout the Padres on Friday night as the Brewers eeked out a 1-0 win at Miller Park. Guerra went six scoreless to earn his second win while Jeffress recorded his ninth save. Domingo Santana finished the game 2-for-3 with a walk and Aaron Hill added a double and base on balls.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 10, New Orleans Zephyrs 3

Keon Broxton belted a pair of home runs as the Sky Sox defeated New Orleans 10-3. Andy Wilkins also homered for Colorado Springs while Nate Orf added a single, double and triple. Orlando Arcia, WIll Middlebrooks and Jake Elmore finished with two hits each. Taylor Jungmann started and picked up the win, going five and allowing three runs. Drew Gagnon and David Goforth each worked two scoreless innings of relief.

Jacksonville Suns 5, BILOXI SHUCKERS 6

The Shuckers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk off with a 6-5 win over Jacksonville. Wei-Chung Wang worked 5.2 innings and allowed two earned runs. Stephen Kohlscheen allowed a run in his lone inning of work but picked up the victory. Brett Phillips walked, singled and hit his sixth home run of the season and Garrett Cooper chipped in a pair of doubles.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 7, Dunedin Blue Jays 5

Brevard piled up seven runs on fourteen hits to take the front half of their doubleheader with Daytona by a score of 7-5. Dustin Houle led the hit parade, going 4-for-4 with a double and a triple. Dustin DeMuth added three hits, including a pair of doubles and Angel Ortega went 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Bubba Derby started and picked up the win, going five innings and giving up five runs. Josh Uhen worked the final two innings without allowing a run to earn the save.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 2, Dunedin Blue Jays 6

Dunedin earned a split of their doubleheader with Brevard, taking game two 6-2. Angel Ventura got the start and went four innings, giving up just one run, but the Blue Jays got to Junior Rincon for five runs in an inning of work as he was charged with the loss. Taylor Brennan went 2-for-3, including his first home run of the season and George Iskenderian added a single and a double in three plate appearances.

Cedar Rapids Kernels 13, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 2

The Timber Rattlers were thumped by Cedar Rapids, losing by a score of 13-2. Miguel Diaz got the start for Wisconsin and took the loss after giving up four runs in 3.1 innings of work. Luis Aviles had the lone multi-hit game for the Rattlers, going 2-for-4 while Trent Clark doubled and drew a pair of walks and Monte Harrison added a single, a walk and a stolen base.
