PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Manny Pina – Pina was our choice for Playr of the Month at Triple-A for the second straight month. In 20 May contests, the 28-year-old backstop hit .342/.386/.592 with three home runs, knocking in 12 runs and scoring 11.

PITCHER OF THE MONTH

Jacob Barnes – Recently called up to Milwaukee after his strong May performance, Barnes made 12 relief appearances in the month, posting a 1.88 ERA and holding opposing hitters to a .216 average, striking out 13 while walking just three.

BILOXI SHUCKERS

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Jacob Nottingham – It was a rough start to the season for Nottingham who battled through a brutal month of April, but he turned things around in May, batting .308 with three home runs in 24 games for the Shuckers.

PITCHER OF THE MONTH

Josh Hader – Hader continues to roll along at Double-A and his month of May was just about as dominant as his April. In five starts he posted a 0.96 ERA with a WHIP of 0.93, striking out 33 batters in 28 innings of work.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Johnny Davis – The 26-year-old Davis has been an on-base machine at the top of the Manatees lineup this season, collecting 34 hits in 29 games last month. He posted an on base percentage of .435 and stole nine more bases, giving him a total of 16 on the season.

PITCHER OF THE MONTH

Brandon Woodruff – Woodruff pitched so well for Brevard County to start the season that he earned himself a promotion to Double-A Biloxi in late May. He made three starts for the Manatees before moving up and went 3-0 with a 1.86 ERA.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Jake Gatewood – The former first round pick found his power stroke as the weather got warmer in Wisconsin, belting seven home runs last month for the Timber Rattlers. He finished the month of May with a .495 slugging percentage and drove in 21 runs in 29 games.

PITCHER OF THE MONTH

Marcos Diplan – The 19-year-old Dominican Diplan has formed a formidable tandem with Freddy Peralta at Wisconsin this season and in six May outings, two of which were starts, he went 2-0 with a 1.19 ERA, striking out 32 in 22.2 innings of work.
