THURSDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 4, Philadelphia Phillies 1

Chase Anderson went 5.2 innings and allowed just one run, striking out six, as the Brewers topped Philadelphia 4-1. Jeremy Jeffress worked a scoreless ninth for his 14th save. Jonathan Villar went 2-for-5 with a home run to lead Milwaukee’s offense. Chris Carter launched his 14th home run of the year while Scooter Gennett and Jonathan Lucroy each contributed two hits.

Omaha Storm Chasers 9, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 13

Colorado Springs won a slugfest, beating Omaha by a score of 13-9. Sam Freeman started and got roughed up for six runs in two innings of work. Ariel Pena followed and got the win, going 4.2 and allowing three runs. Jake Elmore singled, doubled and drew a pair of walks in four plate appearances and Orlando Arcia, Will Middlebrooks, Manny Pina and Andy Wilkins each had multi-hit games as well.

Mississippi Braves 7, BILOXI SHUCKERS 4

Mississippi scored five runs in the sixth inning as they defeated Biloxi 7-4. Javi Salas started and went 5.1 innings, allowing four runs and was charged with the loss. Javier Betancourt hit his third home run of the season for the Shuckers while Brett Phillips added a triple. Domingo Santana finished 1-for-3 with a walk and Garrett Cooper and Chris McFarland each singled for the other Biloxi hits.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 7, Lakeland Tigers 3

The Manatees scored seven runs on twelve hits as they topped Lakeland 7-3. Clint Terry got the start and went three innings, allowing three runs. Kender Villegas followed with two scoreless and earned the win while Corey Knebel tossed two shutout innings of relief and Jon Olczak worked the final two for the save. Dustin DeMuth finished with three hits in five at bats while Elvis Rubio and Malik Collymore each finished with a single and a double.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 3, Peoria Chiefs 1

Blake Allemand continues to rake for the Timber Rattlers, going 4-for-4 with a home run as Wisconsin topped Peoria 3-1. Carlos Belonis finished with three hits in four at-bats with Max McDowell adding the other Rattlers base hit. Devin Williams started and worked six scoreless innings. Jordan Yamamoto tossed the final three frames and picked up the win.
