SATURDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 6, Philadelphia Phillies 3

The Brewers scored a run in the eighth and two more in the ninth as they doubled up the Phillies 6-3. Junior Guerra turned in another quality start for Milwaukee, going six innings and allowing three runs. Will Smith, Tyler Thornburg and Jeremy Jeffress each worked a scoreless inning of relief with Smith earning the win and Jeffress notching the save. Jonathan Villar finished 3-for-5 with a home run while Domingo Santana also homered as part of a 2-for-4 game and Jonathan Lucroy added three hits in five trips to the plate.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 0, New Orleans Zephyrs 3

The Sky Sox were shutout in a rain-shortened affair, falling to New Orleans by a score of 3-0. Taylor Jungmann started and saw his record fall to 1-3 after giving up two earned runs in 3.2 innings of work. Colorado Springs collected just two hits over the five innings they were able to get in before the rains came, with singles coming from Orlando Arcia and Garin Cecchini.

Mississippi Braves, BILOXI SHUCKERS (Cancelled, Wet Grounds)

Biloxi had the finale of their series against Mississippi cancelled due to rain. The game will not be made up as the two teams do not play again in the first half.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 9, St. Lucie Mets 4

Brevard County scored six runs in the fourth as they topped St. Lucie 9-4. Four different Manatees finished with multi-hit games including Clint Coulter, who went 2-for-4 with a double and his third home run of the year. Elvis Rubio reached base four times with two singles and two walks and Angel Ortega and Dustin DeMuth each added a pair of hits. Bubba Derby improved to 5-3 after going six innings and giving up four runs. Junior Rincon went the final three scoreless to earn the save.

Kane County Cougars 1, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 5

Wisconsin belted three home runs on Saturday night as they defeated Kane County 5-1. Monte Harrison hit his second and third home runs of the year for the Rattlers while Isan Diaz added his fifth as part of a 2-for-4 night. Trent Clark returned to the T-Rats lineup and went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk out of the leadoff spot. Matt Garza made his second rehab start for Wisconsin and worked 4.1 innings, allowing one run. Alex Farina followed and got the win with Conor Harber striking out five over the final three innings to collect his first save

DSL Angels 6, DSL Brewers 3

The Dominican Summer League season kicked off on Saturday with the Brewers dropping their opener to the Angels by a score of 6-3. Joaquin De La Cruz started for the Brewers and left in line for the win, tossing five shutout innings but the Angels got to the Brewers bullpen with Jesus Brea taking the loss. Luis Avila, Jesus Lujano and Marcos Pinero each collected three base hits while Bryan Connell belted his first home run of the season and Jay Feliciano added a double and a walk.
