THURSDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 8, Los Angeles Dodgers 6

The Brewers got a two-run home run off the bat of Jonathan Villar in the top of the ninth inning to top the Dodgers 8-6 on Thursday night. Junior Guerra started and worked 5.1 innings, allowing five runs. Tyler Thornburg tossed a scoreless inning of relief and got the win with Jeremy Jeffress earning his 19th save. Villar finished 2-for-5 for Milwaukee while Chris Carter doubled and homered and Aaron Hill went 2-for-4 with a home run.

Iowa Cubs 8, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 9

The Sky Sox rallied from five runs down to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, then walked off with a victory when they plated a run in the bottom of the tenth. Wily Peralta made his first start for Colorado Springs but lasted just 3.2 innings, allowing three runs. Damien Magnifico worked a scoreless tenth and picked up the win. Jake Elmore and Garin Cecchini each had three hits while Yadiel Rivera and Will Middlebrooks added two hits each.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 1, Jacksonville Suns 3

The Shuckers dropped another low scoring contest to Jacksonville, falling by a score of 3-1. Adrian Houser ot the start and was charged with the loss, going six innings and allowing just two runs. Garrett Cooper led the Biloxi offense, going 3-for-4 and knocking in their only run. Nate Orf and Jacob Nottingham each had a pair of hits and Johnny Davis singled and drew a pair of walks.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 6, Daytona Tortugas 11

Daytona put up eight runs in the bottom of the eighth inning as they topped Brevard County 11-6. Cody Ponce started and took the loss, going three innings and allowing just one run. Malik Collymore finished the night 2-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in while Dustin DeMuth went 1-for-4 with a triple and scored a pair of runs.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 14, Beloit Snappers 0

Wisconsin’s offense exploded for 14 runs on 16 hits and Freddy Peralta and Jake Drossner combined to shutout Beloit as the Timber Rattlers rolled over the Snappers 14-0. Peralta started and gave up just one hit over six innings as he earned the win with Drossner going the final three for the save. Monte Harrison and Max McDowell each picked up three hits for the Rattlers while Luis Aviles, Isan Diaz, Alan Sharkey and Carlos Belonis each contributed two hits.

DSL Rockies 2, DSL BREWERS 1

The Brewers were edged by the Rockies 2-1 in Dominican Summer League action on Thursday. Henry Medina started and took the loss, going five innings and giving up two runs. Jesus Brea followed and worked four scoreless innings of relief. The Brewers offense managed just three base hits, getting singles from Luis Avila, Aaron Familia and Edwin Sano.
