The College World Series gets underway tomorrow and while several of Milwaukee’s top draft choices fell just short of a trip to Omaha, there are still a couple who will be in action over the next week plus in Nebraska.
In bracket one, the Brewers 31st round pick, first baseman Ryan Aquilar leads the Arizona Wildcats into play, in a group that includes Miami, Oklahoma State and UC Santa Barbara. Aquilar, a left-handed hitting senior, started all 65 games for the Wildcats this season, hitting .311 with 21 doubles and eight home runs while knocking in 51 runs.
Meanwhile, in bracket two, Milwaukee’s 30th round selection, right-handed pitcher Dalton Brown will hope to pitch the Texas Tech Red Raiders into the finals in a group that also includes Florida, TCU and Coastal Carolina. In 14 relief appearances this season, Brown posted a 4.11 earned run average, striking out 12 in 15.1 innings of work.
