We’re in the midst of a hectic couple of weeks for us here at MPP and so I just wanted to touch base with our readers with a few quick site updates.
First off, a big congratulations goes out to our own Marcus Young and his wife Crystal, who are the proud new parents of twin boys. Jalen Christopher Young and Juwan James Young were born on Monday evening and all are doing well. Obviously this means that Marcus will be scaling back his involvement here a bit for the time being, but hopefully we can cover for him in the coming months.
Speaking of celebrations, I will actually be getting married tomorrow afternoon and that means that the majority of our staff will probably be in rough shape for the next day or two as we all try to recover from the festivities. I bring this up because it will likely affect the timing of our daily Around the Horn column. Either I or someone else will still be taking care of posting each day, but the posts may not come as early in the morning as usual through the weekend.
And while we’re on the topic of that Around the Horn column, we are going to be looking to make some changes there as well in the coming weeks. The plan is to split it into two columns with one (“On Deck”) in the morning, getting you ready for the games that day, and then a second in the late afternoon which will be more like the traditional Around the Horn that you are used to. Our thinking is that by doing it this way, it will give all of our writers a chance to jump in and update the ATH post as games are completed while also hopefully encouraging more comments from our readers as the games are going on.
Another change you may notice soon is in the layout of the site as we are currently looking at switching our hosting for the site and may wind up undergoing some more changes if/when we make that switch. I haven’t been real happy with the new design we went to this season and have been toying with some changes that will hopefully make things more streamlined while also improving the aesthetics as well. My hope is to get all of these changes done over the MLB All-Star break. Whether that is realistic or not remains to be seen, but we are working hard to get some of the bugs ironed out to keep MPP going strong.
Along those lines, we’d love to hear your feedback. What do you like/not like about the site, and what would you like to see more or less of as we continue to grow? Feel free to drop any comments here or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, we’re always looking for new writers, so if you’re interested in joining our staff and have something you’d like to write in regards to the Brewers and their minor league system, feel free to drop us a line.
I hope that gives you a little insight into what we’re working on here and we appreciate you’re patience as we adjust to a few changes in our personal lives. As always, thank you so much for continuing to check out MPP! We’re on pace to once again shatter our numbers from last year and we couldn’t do that without all of you, so thank you all and Go Brewers!
