THURSDAY’S RESULTS

Memphis Redbirds 8, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 9

The Sky Sox scored four runs in the sixth inning to take game one of their doubleheader by a score of 9-8. Jorge Lopez started and went 4.1 innings, allowing all eight runs, six earned. Michael Kirkman earned the win with Corey Knebel notching the save. Kyle Wren reached base four times with a pair of hits and two walks while Will Middlebrooks added his 10th home run of the season.

Memphis Redbirds 5, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 7

Colorado Springs jumped out to an early lead in game two, then held on for a 7-5 victory to earn a doubleheader sweep of the Redbirds. Brent Suter started and went five innings, allowing just one run and picked up the win. Damien Magnifico recorded save number eleven. Michael Reed went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in and Eric Young Jr. added a pair of hits.

Montgomery Biscuits 3, BILOXI SHUCKERS 2

Biloxi’s ninth inning rally came up just short as they fell to Montgomery 3-2. Adrian Houser started and took the loss, going four innings and allowing all three runs. Tristan Archer, Tyler Spurlin and Stephen Kohlscheen combined for five scoreless innings of relief. The Shuckers offense managed just two hits, getting singles from Garrett Cooper and Brett Phillips.

Clearwater Threshers 7, BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 4

Jon Perrin go roughed up to the tune of five runs on eleven hits over four and two-thirds innings, suffering the loss as the Manatees fell to Clearwater 7-4. Fidel Pena hit his second home run of the season for Brevard County. Clint Coulter finished 1-for-4 with a double and Elvis Rubio collected two hits in four trips to the plate.

Quad Cities River Bandits 0, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 2

Three Timber Rattlers pitchers combined to shutout Quad Cities on one hit as Wisconsin picked up a 2-0 victory over the River Bandits. Conor Harber started and went five hitless innings, striking out seven. Jake Drossner followed with three scoreless frames to earn the win with Nate Griep closing the door in the ninth for the save. Isan Diaz went 2-for-3 with a walk while Luis Aviles finished 2-for-4 with a walk.

HELENA BREWERS 3, Great Falls Voyagers 7

Helena got behind early and never could recover, losing to Great Falls by a score of 7-3. Zak Brown started but lasted just a third of an inning, giving up three runs, and was charged with the loss. Lucas Erceg continued his hot-hitting ways, going 2-for-4 with a double and his first home run. Fellow 2016 draft choice Ronnie Gideon also added his first professional homer.

DSL Nationals 4, DSL BREWERS 2

The Brewers dropped game one of their doubleheader with the Nationals by a score of 4-2. Henry Medina started and took the loss, going five innings and giving up four runs, three earned. Luis Benitez worked the final two scoreless. Jose Sibrian singled an drove in a run and Luis Avila added a base hit and scored a pair of runs.

DSL Nationals , DSL BREWERS 2

The Brewers managed to earn a split of their doubleheader with a 5-0 shutout of the Nationals in game two. Johan Dominguez got the start and tossed four scoreless innings. Freisis Adames followed with two shutout frames and was credited with the win. Edwin Sano led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a walk and two doubles while Jose Sibrian and Bryan Torres each added a pair of hits.
