WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

Los Angeles Dodgers 0, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 7

Junior Guerra improved his record to 5-1, tossing eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven as they Brewers topped the Dodgers 7-0. Ryan Braun hit his 13th home run of the season as part of a 2-for-4 night. Kirk Nieuwenhuis also added a home run while Jonathan Villar finished 3-for-4 and Aaron Hill added a pair of hits.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 1, Birmingham Barons 3

Biloxi out-hit Birmingham 6-5 but managed just one run as they lost to the Barons by a score of 3-1. Brooks Hall started and went seven innings, giving up only one run. Stephen Peterson followed and surrendered two runs in two-thirds of an inning and was charged with the loss.

Daytona Tortugas 6, BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 7

The Manatees finally snapped their long losing streak as Elvis Rubio launched a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off with a 7-6 victory. Cody Ponce got the start and gave up two earned runs over four innings. Angel Ventura followed and went the final five frames to earn the victory. Rubio finished 3-for-5 while Greg McCall and Dustin DeMuth each added a home run as well.

Clinton LumberKings 6, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 2

Clinton broke open a close game with three runs in the ninth as they defeated Wisconsin 6-2. Freddy Peralta started and went 4.2 innings, allowing just one run. Miguel Diaz worked the final three innings and was tagged with the loss after giving up four runs. Isan Diaz finished the game 3-for-4 with a double and Sthervin Matos added a triple.

Missoula Osprey 10, HELENA BREWERS 3

Helena jumped out to an early lead, but it was all downhill from there as the Brewers fell to Missoula 10-3. Nattino Diplan started and was charged with the loss, going 4.2 innings and giving up two runs. Weston Wilson led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in while Franly Mallen added a double and Caleb Whalen drew a pair of walks.

AZL BREWERS 16, AZL A’s 0

The Brewers plated 15 runs in the first inning with the benefit of nine walks and Corbin Burnes and Aaron Myers combined on a one hit shutout in a game that was completed early due to lightning. Burnes got the start and tossed two scoreless before handing the ball off to Myers who worked the final three hitless innings for the win. Jay Feliciano finished 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a home run and Trye York added a pair of doubles for the Brewers.

DSL BREWERS 6, DSL Cardinals 7

It took extra innings, but the Cardinals plated a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to walk off with a 7-6 win in game one of their doubleheader. Harold Chirino started and went three innings, giving up two earned runs. Jesus Brea followed and allowed one run over 2.2 innings. Alberto Pualino was charged with two unearned runs and suffered the loss. Jesus Lujano finished 2-for-4 with a double and Jose Sibrian added a double and a walk.

DSL Cardinals 11, DSL BREWERS 4

The Cardinals took game two of their doubleheader in more convincing fashion, defeating the Brewers 11-4. Jenri Montas started and took the loss, going four innings and giving up five earned runs. Yorki Franco led the Brewers offense going 2-for-4 with a double while Bryan Connell and Edwin Sano each contributed a pair of base hits as well.
