THURSDAY’S RESULTS

Los Angeles Dodgers 8, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 1

The Brewers dropped the finale of their series with the Dodgers on Thursday afternoon, losing by a score of 8-1. Zach Davies started and took the loss, giving up six runs over four and a third innings. Scooter Gennett finished 1-for-3 with a walk to lead Milwaukee’s offense while Ramon Flores added a double and Ryan Braun and Jonathan Villar each chipped in a single.

New Orleans Zephyrs 3, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 7

The Sky Sox scored two in the seventh and three in the eighth as they defeated New Orleans 7-3. Tyler Cravy started and worked two scoreless before a rain delay. Brent Suter took over when play resumed and went four innings, allowing just one run to earn the win. Will Middlebrooks finished 3-for-5 with a double and Kyle Wren reached base five times with two hits and three walks and he also stole three bases.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 11, Birmingham Barons 6

Biloxi scored a season high eleven runs as they topped Birmingham 11-6. Taylor Jungmann started and went four innings, giving up four earned runs. Tristan Archer followed with three innings and picked up the win. Nick Ramirez hit his ninth home run and drove in four runs while Tyrone Taylor finished 3-for-5 with a double and Brett Phillips added a pair of doubles.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES, Daytona Tortugas (Postponed, Rain)

Brevard and Daytona had their game rained out on Thursday night. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, August 3rd.

Clinton LumberKings 3, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 4

Wisconsin scored a run in the bottom of the tenth to walk off with a 4-3 win over Clinton. Marcos Diplan got the start and went 6.1 innings, allowing just one run. Quintin Torres-Costa went the final two innings without allowing a run and picked up the victory. Max McDowell walked, singled and doubled while Mitch Ghelfi added a single and a double in five trips to the plate.

HELENA BREWERS 3, Missoula Osprey 6

Helena was doubled up by Missoula, losing by a score of 6-3. Trey Supak got the start and suffered the loss, giving up three runs, two earned, over four innings for the Brewers. First baseman Ronnie Gideon led the offense, going 2-for-4 with his third home run of the season. Yerlad Martinez also homered and Cooper Hummel added a double.

AZL A’s 5, AZL BREWERS 2

The A’s scored three runs in the seventh to help them topple the Brewers 5-2. Nash Walters started for the Brewers and was charged with the loss despite allowing just one run over 3.2 innings of work. Nick Cain led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a triple. Jose Gomez reached base twice with a single and a walk while Julio Mendez recorded the only other hit for the Brewers.

DSL BREWERS 9, DSL Braves 2

The Brewers scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to a 9-2 win over the Braves. Henry Medina started and went five innings, giving up two runs and picked up the win. Freisis Adames worked the final four scoreless for the save. Edwin Sano clubbed his first home run of the season while Jose Sibrian, Luis Avila and Bryan Torres each added two hits.

  1. Can you guys take kirby off the prospect list? He just seems like a waste a space because he isnt gonna pitch at all this year.
