FRIDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 1, St. Louis Cardinals 7

The Cardinals roughed up Matt Garza on Friday night, beating up on the Brewers 7-1. Garza started and took the loss, going five and two-thirds and giving up seven runs on nine hits. Chris Carter launched his 20th home run of the season but it was one of just four his for Milwaukee as Jonathan Villar, Hernan Perez and Jake Elmore each added a single.

New Orleans Zephyrs 7, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 13

The Sky Sox scored 13 runs on 17 hits as they rolled over New Orleans 13-7. Hiram Burgos got the start and picked up the win, going five innings and giving up four runs. Will Middlebrooks continued his hot hitting ways, going 4-for-4 with a double and a walk while Josmil Pinto also reached base five times, going 3-for-3 with a pair of walks. Rene Garcia, Andy Wilkins and Kyle Wren each added two hits.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 3, Birmingham Barons 1

The Shuckers plated two runs in the top of the 13th to help them to a 3-1 extra innings win over Birmingham. Wei-Chung Wang started and went eight innings, allowing just one run, but received a no-decision. Gage Smith was credited with the win and Stephen Kohlscheen notched the save. Jacob Nottingham finished 3-for-6 while Johnny Davis added two hits and Chris McFarland doubled and drew a walk.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 3, Clearwater Threshers 6

Th Manatees saw their record fall to 24-52 as they lost to Clearwater 6-3. Bubba Derby got the start and was charged with the loss after giving up six runs over four innings of work. Elvis Rubio reached base three times for Brevard with a walk and two hits. Fidel Pena went 2-for-4 with a double while Clint Coulter also added a pair of base hits.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 4, Burlington Bees 2

Wisconsin scored a run in the seventh and two more in the eight to come back and knock off Burlington 4-2. Drake Owenby started and went six innings, giving up two runs. Devin Williams followed with three scoreless frames and picked up the victory. Jake Gatewood led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two doubles while Mitch Ghelfi added three hits in four trips to the plate.

HELENA BREWERS 11, Missoula Osprey 14

Helena dropped a slugfest to Missoula, losing by a score of 14-11. Karsen Lindell was charged with the loss after getting the start and giving up nine runs in just two and two-thirds innings of work. Joantgel Segovia finished 3-for-4 with a double and a walk. Lucas Erceg collected three hits and a walk and drove in three runs while Franly Mallen singled, doubled and drew a pair of walks in five plate appearances.

AZL BREWERS 1, AZL Dodgers 2

The Brewers scored a run in the top of the first but that would be the only run they’d score as the Dodgers edged them by a score of 2-1. Wilson Adams started and worked the first inning, allowing an unearned run. Nelson Hernandez allowed just one run over three innings of relief but was charged with the loss. Jose Gomez and Nic Pierre each had two hits for the Brewers with Trey York and Jay Feliciano each adding a single and a walk.

DSL Braves 3, DSL BREWERS 1

The Brewers managed just one run on five hits as they lost to the Braves 3-1. Deymar Alvarado started and went three innings, giving up one run. Johan Dominguez followed and went five innings, giving up two runs, and was charged with the loss. Jesus Lujano finished with two hits while Moises Perez drew three walks in four plate appearances.
