SATURDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 0, St. Louis Cardinals 3

The Brewers were shutout by St. Louis on Saturday, losing by a score of 3-0. Jimmy Nelson started and was charged with the loss, going six innings and giving up three runs, two earned. Jonathan Villar reached base three times out of the leadoff spot, going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. Ramon Flores finished 2-for-3 and Hernan Perez added a single and a stolen base.

New Orleans Zephyrs 6, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 8

After being shutout through the first five innings, the Sky Sox bats came to life over the final few innings as Colorado Springs topped New Orleans 8-6. Wily Peralta started and went three and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs. David Goforth tossed two scoreless innings of relief and earned the win. Josmil Pinto and Eric Young Jr. each had two hits while Manny Pina added a double and drove in three runs.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 5, Birmingham Barons 6

The Shuckers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but Birmingham answered back, tying the game in the sixth before walking off with a run in the bottom of the tenth. Jorge Ortega started and went seven innings, allowing five runs, three earned. Stephen Peterson was tagged with the loss after giving up a run in 1.1 innings of work. Angel Ortega finished 3-for-5 for Biloxi while Garrett Cooper and Tyrone Taylor each added a home run.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 5, Clearwater Threshers 8

Clearwater jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning as they topped Brevard County once again by a score of 8-5. Eric Hanhold started and took the loss, going six innings and giving up six runs, four earned. George Iskenderian finished 2-for-4 with a home run for the Manatees while Clint Coulter also homered and Omar Garcia added two singles and a walk.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 5, Burlington Bees 2

Wisconsin plated four runs in the fourth inning to help them defeat Burlington 5-2. Jordan Yamamoto got the start for the Rattlers and earned the win, going six innings and giving up just two runs. Alex Farina followed with two scoreless innings and Nate Griep retired the side in the ninth to earn his 12th save. Jake Gatewood finished the game 2-for-4 while Max McDowell and Isan Diaz each added a single and a walk.

HELENA BREWERS 2, Missoula Osprey 3

Missoula scored a run in the bottom of the ninth as they defeated Helena 3-2 in walkoff fashion. Rodrigo Benoit started and went four innings, allowing just an unearned run. Colton Cross was charged with the loss, giving up a single unearned run in a third of an inning on the mound. Yerald Martinez finished the game 2-for-4 with his fourth home run of the year and Charles Galianio added a double in four trips to the plate.

AZL Dodgers 11, AZL BREWERS 1

It was a night for rehab appearances in Maryvale as Victor Diaz, Preston Gainey and Mitch Lambson all took turns on the mound. Diaz started and suffered the loss after giving up three runs in an inning of work in his first game action since May of 2015. Nick Roscetti and Julio Mendez each singled and walked for the Brewers with Nicol Valderrey adding a pair of walks.

DSL Rockies, DSL BREWERS (Suspended, Rain)

The Brewers and Rockies had their Dominican Summer League game suspended after just one inning on Saturday. It will likely be completed as part of a doubleheader when the two teams square off again on Monday.
