MONDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 1, Washington Nationals 0

Junior Guerra, Will Smith and Jeremy Jeffress combined to shutout Washington 1-0 on Monday. Junior Guerra got the start and went 7.1 scoreless innings. Smith came on to get the next two outs and Jeffress closed the door in the ninth for his 22nd save of the year. Martin Maldonado homered for the only run of the game while Scooter Gennett added two hits in four at-bats.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 2, Oklahoma City Dodgers 7

Oklahoma City jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they topped Colorado Springs 7-2. Jorge Lopez started and took the loss, giving up six runs over four innings. Kyle Wren continued his hot streak at the plate, going 2-for-4. Nate Orf and Josmil Pinto each doubled while Keon Broxton and Manny Pina each singled for the only other Sky Sox base hits.

Jacksonville Suns 1, BILOXI SHUCKERS 5

Tyrone Taylor and Garrett Cooper each homered as the Shuckers topped Jacksonvill 5-1. Brooks Hall got the start and earned the win, going 6.1 innings and giving up one run. Gabriel Noriega went 3-for-4 with a double while Taylor finished 2-for-4 and knocked in three runs. Brett Phillips singled and walked and Hall added a double in three trips to the plate.

Dunedin Blue Jays 0, BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 3

Cody Ponce and Angel Ventura shutout Dunedin as the Manatees picked up a 3-0 victory. Ponce started and went five innings, allowing just two hits while striking out five. Ventura followed and gave up just one hit over the final four and picked up the win. Dustin DeMuth and George Iskenderian each had two hits while Corey Ray went 0-for-3 with an RBI in his pro debut.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 5, Cedar Rapids Kernels 6

Cedar Rapids rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth as they came back to knock off Wisconsin 6-5. Miguel Diaz got the start and went four innings, giving up two runs. Quintin Torres-Costa gave up two runs, one earned in an inning and a third and was charged with the loss. Troy Stokes reached base four times with three singles and a walk while Isan Diaz singled and tripled and Jake Gatewood added a single and a double.

HELENA BREWERS 7, Billings Mustangs 20

Billings scored ten runs in the bottom of the eighth as they routed Helena 20-7. Zack Brown started and took the loss, giving up five runs over three innings. Lucas Erceg went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in three runs. Ronnie Gideon added a single and a double while Jonathan Oquendo had two hits and two walks and Franly Mallen chipped in a pair of singles.

AZL Reds 3, AZL BREWERS 0

The Brewers were shutout by the Reds 3-0 in a game that started at 10:00 AM in Arizona. Carlos Herrera got the start and was charged with the loss, going three innings and giving up a pair of runs. Trey York reached base three times with a single, double and a walk while Jose Gomez and Nick Roscetti each added two base hits for the Brewers.

DSL BREWERS 4, DSL Rockies 6

The Brewers scored three in the fifth, but the Rockies answered with four in the bottom of the inning on their way to a 6-4 win. Maiker Pinto started and suffered the loss, giving up five runs in four and two-thirds innings of work. Luis Avila had two hits and a walk out of the leadoff spot while third baseman Bryan Torres added two hits and scored a pair of runs.
