WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 4, Washington Nationals 7

The Brewers dropped the finale of their series with Washington, losing by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday afternoon. Matt Garza started and took the loss, getting roughed up for seven runs in just four and a third innings. Jonathan Villar reached base three times, collecting a single, double and a walk while Jonathan Lucroy finished 2-for-4 and Scooter Gennett knocked in a pair of runs.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 2, Oklahoma City Dodgers 3

Oklahoma City plated a run in the bottom of the seventh to edge Colorado Springs 3-2. Hiram Burgos started and went six innings, giving up two runs. David Goforth followed and was tagged with the loss after allowing a run in his one inning of action. Orlando Arcia finished 2-for-4 with his seventh home run of the year while Josmil Pinto added a single and a double.

Jacksonville Suns 3, BILOXI SHUCKERS 1

Starting pitcher Wei-Chung Wang gave up just two earned runs over six innings but suffered the loss as Biloxi fell to Jacksonville 3-1. Tayler Scott made his Shuckers debut working two scoreless. Tyrone Taylor belted his sixth home run of the season while Johnny Davis went 2-for-3 and Gabriel Noriega, Javier Betancourt and Wang each added a base hit.

Dunedin Blue Jays 6, BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 4

Dunedin scored three in the fourth and three more in the fifth as they topped Brevard County 6-4. Bubba Derby got the start and suffered the loss, giving up six runs, five earned, in four innings of work. Dustin DeMuth led the Manatees offense, going 2-for-4 with a double while Elvis Rubio added two hits and Omar Garcia singled and drew a pair of walks.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 8, Cedar Rapids Kernels 9

Wisconsin rallied for three runs in the ninth to take an 8-7 lead, but Cedar Rapids tied the game in the bottom of the ninth before walking off with a win in the bottom of the 12th. Devin Williams started and went five innings, giving up two earned runs, Alex Farina worked the final inning and two-thirds and was charged with the loss. Troy Stoked reached base five times, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and a walk. Isan Diaz blasted a pair of home runs and Mitch Ghelfi added his fourth dinger of the year.

HELENA BREWERS 2, Billings Mustangs 4

Helena scored two in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough as they were doubled up by Billings 4-2. Michael Petersen started and took the loss after giving up three unearned runs in an inning and two-thirds. Trey Supak tossed four scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Demi Orimoloye finished 3-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases and Lucas Erceg chipped in two hits in four at-bats.

AZL BREWERS 1, AZL White Sox 4

Four White Sox pitchers held the Brewers in check as the Maryvale Crew lost by a score of 4-1. Victor Diaz started and took the loss, giving up two runs in two-thirds of an inning. Nelson Hernandez tossed three hitless innings in relief, striking out four. Nic Pierre finished 3-for-5 with a double while Trey York and Julio Mendez each added a single and a walk.

DSL Tigers 12, DSL BREWERS 7

The Brewers dropped their fourth straight Dominican Summer League game, falling to the Tigers 12-7. Jenri Montas started and took the loss, going 3.1 innings and giving up four runs. Edwin Sano finished 2-for-4 with a double for the Brewers while Bryan Connell reached base three times, going 2-for-4 with a walk and Jose Sibrian drove in a pair of runs.
