THURSDAY’S RESULTS

Iowa Cubs 7, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 11

The Sky Sox put up 11 runs on 13 hits as they topped Iowa 11-7. Wily Peralta got the start and went 3.1 innings, giving up four runs, three earned. Tim Dillard followed with 2.2 scoreless innings of relief and earned the win to move to 5-1 on the season. Nate Orf finished with three hits and a walk while driving in four runs and Orlando Arci and Josmil Pinto each added a pair of hits.

Jacksonville Suns 9, BILOXI SHUCKERS 1

Biloxi fell behind early and never recovered, losing to Jacksonville 9-1. Jorge Ortega started on the mound and saw his record fall to 1-7 on the season after giving up eight runs in just one inning of work. Tyrone Taylor continued to stay hot at the plate, going 2-for-4 while Nick Ramirez also finished with two hits and Johnny Davis added a triple.

Daytona Tortugas 12, BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 3

The Manatees were routed by Daytona, losing by a score of 12-3. Eric Hanhold started and took the loss, going 5.2 innings and giving up five runs, four earned. Dustin DeMuth reached base in all five trips to the plate, going 4-for-4 with a walk. Clint Coulter doubled and walked while George Iskenderian and Malik Collymore each added a single and a walk.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 0, Cedar Rapids Kernels 1

The Timber Rattlers were shutout on just one hit as they dropped a pitcher’s duel to Cedar Rapids 1-0. Jordan Yamamoto started and was charged with the loss, despite allowing just one run over seven innings of work. Juan Ortiz collected the lone Wisconsin base hit while Jake Gatewood, Max McDowell and Brandon Diaz each added a base on balls.

Missoula Osprey 2, HELENA BREWERS 5

Helena scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh as they topped Missoula 5-2. Thomas Jankins got the start for the Brewers and worked four scoreless innings before giving way to the bullpen. Karsen Lindell followed and picked up the win with Quintin Torres-Costa recording the save. Franly Mallen led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and a home run. Nathan Rodriguez also homered while Demi Orimoloye, Lucas Erceg and Joantgel Segovia each collected two hits.

AZL White Sox 3, AZL BREWERS 7

The Brewers scored four in the fifth to help them defeat the White Sox 7-3. Parker Bean got the start and went one inning, giving up one run. A rehabbing Mitch Lambson followed with a scoreless inning of relief and was credited with the win. Chad McClanahan went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and a walk in his pro debut. Ignacio Otano finished with three base hits and Nic Pierre added two singles in five trips to the plate.

DSL Angels 2, DSL BREWERS 0

The Brewers were no-hit by two Angels pitchers in game one of their doubleheader, losing by a score of 2-0 in a seven inning contest. Johan Dominguez started the game for the Brewers and was the tough-luck loser after going six frames and allowing just one earned run. The Brewers managed just three baserunners in the game as Antonio Perez drew a pair of walks and Luis Avalo reached on an error.

DSL Angels 2, DSL BREWERS 4

The Brewers got even in game two, doubling up the Angels 4-2. Henry Medina got the starting nod and picked up the victory, going five and two-thirds innings and giving up just one earned run. Francisco Pena got the final four outs to record the save. Edwin Sano finished 2-for-3 while Jose Pena and Moises Perez each added a double and Luis Avalo singled and drove in a pair of runs.
