FRIDAY’S RESULTS

St. Louis Cardinals 3, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 4

Jonathan Villar knocked in Kirk Nieuwenhuis with the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Brewers a 4-3 walk-off win on Friday night. Jimmy Nelson started and went six innings, giving up two runs. Jeremy Jeffress got the final two outs and was awarded the win. Chris Carter launched his 21st and 22nd home runs while Jonathan Lucroy added his 11th of the year and Villar finished 2-for-5.

Iowa Cubs 5, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 15

The Sky Sox racked up 15 runs on 18 hits as they rolled to a 15-5 win over Iowa. Brent Suter got the starting nod and worked 4.2 innings, allowing two runs and striking out six. Jaye Chapman followed with an inning and a third of scoreless relief and was awarded the win. Manny Pina led the offense, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and a walk. Kyle Wren reached base four times with a single and three walks. Nate Orf added three hits and Josmil Pinto, Garin Cecchini and Eric Young Jr. each had two-hit games.

Jacksonville Suns 4, BILOXI SHUCKERS 2

The Shuckers dropped their fourth straight game, losing to Jacksonville 4-2. Starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff went five innings, giving up just an unearned run but was charged with the loss. Brett Phillips led the Biloxi offense, going 2-for-4 with a triple while Javier Betancourt singled and walked and Gabriel Noriega chipped in a single and a sacrifice.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 4, Bradenton Marauders 6

Bradenton scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to come back and defeat Brevard County 6-4. Kodi Medeiros started and went five innings, giving up three runs, two earned. Zach Hirsch followed and was charged with the loss after giving up three runs in 2.1 innings. Jose Cuas singled, doubled and drew a walk while Dustin DeMuth went 2-for-4 with a double and Blake Allemand chipped in two hits and a walk.

Peoria Chiefs 2, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 4

Wisconsin doubled up Peoria, knocking off the Chiefs by a score of 4-2. Jake Drossner got the start and earned the victory, going five innings and giving up just one run. Nate Griep worked the final two innings to earn his 13th save. Troy Stokes reached base four times, going 3-for-3 with a walk while Mitch Ghelfi went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in three runs.

Missoula Osprey 13, HELENA BREWERS 4

Missoula scored six in the third and five in the fourth as they beat up on Helena 13-4. Gentry Fortuno began the game on the mound for Helena and was saddled with the loss after giving up ten runs in 3.1 innings of work. Right fielder Yerald Martinez hit his fifth home run of the season and also drew a base on balls and Joantgel Segovia reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with two walks.

DSL BREWERS 19, DSL Angels 2

The Brewers scored ten runs in the ninth inning as they routed the Angels 19-2. Deymar Alvarado started and earned the win, allowing just a single unearned run in five innings of work. Jose Pena went 3-for-5 with a double and four runs batted in. Bryan Connell added a pair of doubles while Jesus Lujano and Jose Sibrian each chipped in two hits.
