The Brewers had a pair of players named to the Dominican Summer League All-Star team as catcher Jose Sibrian and pitcher Johan Dominguez were selected to the National League squad.
Sibrian, a 17-year-old Venezuelan backstop, was one of Milwaukee’s more prominent International signings last season and he made his pro debut in the DSL this year. Through 28 games, he posted a line of .236/.317/.283, knocking in 21 runs and scoring 19.
Dominguez, a 6’4″ right-hander, was signed by the Brewers just prior to the start of the 2016 season in May and has proven to be one of their most reliable arms. The 20-year-old Dominican has a record of 3-2 with a 1.91 earned run average through 11 outings, striking out 32 batters in 33 innings of work and hold opposing hitters to a .177 batting average.
The 2016 Dominican Summer League All-Star game will be played on Sunday at the Seattle Mariners academy with first pitch scheduled for 9:30 AM CST.
