FRIDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 4, Cincinnati Reds 5

The Brewers dropped thier first game following the All-Star break, losing to the Reds by a score of 5-4. Matt Garza started and took the loss after giving up four runs in 5.1 innings. Scooter Gennett finished 2-for-5 with his eighth home run of the season for Milwaukee while Jonathan Villar added two hits and a walk and Ramon Flores singled and walked.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 1, Tacoma Rainiers 4

A Manny Pina home run was all the offense Colorado Springs could manage against Felix Hernandez and company as they fell to Tacoma 4-1. Sky Sox starting pitcher Wily Peralta suffered the loss, going 4.1 innings and giving up two runs. Pina finished the game 2-for-4 while Orlando Arcia addded a single and a double and Keon Broxton went 1-for-3 with a double and a stolen base.

Birmingham Barons 3, BILOXI SHUCKERS 4

Birmingham took an eighth inning lead when they plated two runs, but the Shuckers answered right back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the eighth to clip Birmingham 4-3. Taylor Jungmann started and went six innings, giving up just one run. Stephen Peterson picked up the win with Stephen Kohlscheen recording the save. Parker Berberet went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run while Gabriel Noriega also added a home run.

Jupiter Hammerheads 3, BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 4

The Manatees scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to help them knock off Jupiter 4-3. Cody Ponce got the starting nod and went six innings, giving up just one earned run and picked up the win. Brad Kuntz worked a scoreless ninth to record the save. Clint Coulter finished 2-for-4 with a double while Elvis Rubio and Blake Allemand added two hits each.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 3, Bowling Green Hot Rods 4

Wisconsin dropped another tough one to Bowling Green, losing by a score of 4-3 in 13 innings. Jake Drossner started and went 5.1 innings, giving up two runs. Chase Williams gave up the walk-off run and was charged with the loss. Troy Stokes and Carlos Belonis each went 2-for-5 with a double for the Timber Rattlers and Mitch Ghelfi added two hits in six trips to the plate.

HELENA BREWERS 2, Idaho Falls Chukars 9

Helena was roughed up by Idaho Falls, losing by a score of 9-2. Wuilder Rodriguez started for the Brewers and took the loss after getting knocked around for eight runs in just 3.2 innings of work. Franly Mallen went 1-for-4 with a double and drove in a run while Lucas Erceg and Yerald Martinez each added a single and a walk.

AZL Indians 4, AZL BREWERS 3

The Brewers late rally attempt came up just short as they fell to the Indians by a score of 4-3. Carlos Herrera got the start and was charged with the loss, giving up a pair of runs over five innings. Gabriel Garcia led the Maryvale offense, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles with Nick Cain and Julio Mendez adding two hits each.

DSL BREWERS 5, DSL Cardinals 4

The Brewers scored four runs in the fifth to edge the Cardinals in their final game before their All-Star break. Luis Cordero made the start and worked a scoreless first before Deymar Alvarado took over. He gave up two runs in 3.1 innings and earned the victory. Jesus Brea worked the final three scoreless for the save. Javier Castillo went 2-for-4 with a double while Yorki Franco and Jesus Lujano each tripled.
