WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 9, Pittsburgh Pirates 5

Milwaukee tallied twelve hits and nine walks as they topped Pittsburgh 9-5 on Wednesday night. Chase Anderson got the start and went four innings, giving up three runs. Carlos Torres followed and picked up the win. Jonathan Villar reached base four times with two singles, two walks and a stolen base while Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 with a walk and Ryan Braun added a single, triple and a base on balls.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 4, Reno Aces 5

Reno plated a run in the bottom of the tenth to walk off with a 5-4 win over Colorado Springs. Wily Peralta started for the Sky Sox and gave up two runs over 5.2 innings of work, striking out 11. David Goforth allowed a run in two-thirds of an inning and was charged with the loss. Kyle Wren, Nate Orf, Orlando Arcia and Keon Broxton all had multi-hit games for Colorado Springs.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 4, Pensacola Blue Wahoos 6

Pensacola jumped out to an early lead, then held on to knock off Biloxi 6-4. Angel Ventura got the start and was charged with the loss, going five innings and giving up six runs, four earned. Chris McFarland and Angel Ortega each picked up a pair of hits for the Shuckers while Nick Ramirez added a single and a pair of walks.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 1, Palm Beach Cardinals 0

Four Manatees pitchers combined to shutout Palm Beach as Brevard County won a low-scoring 1-0 contest. Cody Ponce got the start and worked five scoreless innings to pick up the win. Preston Gainey worked a scoreless ninth for the save. Malik Collymore finished 2-for-3 and Corey Ray added a triple in four trips to the plate.

Fort Wayne TinCaps 6, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 14

Wisconsin fell behind early, then exploded for 14 runs on 21 hits as they rolled over Fort Wayne 14-6. Jordan Yamamoto started and picked up the win despite giving up six runs in 5.2 innings. Mitch Ghelfi continued to rake, going 4-for-5 with two doubles. Luis Aviles had three hits including fifth home run. Max McDowell finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and two walks and Lucas Erceg added three hits in his Rattlers debut.

AZL Royals 10, AZL BREWERS 5

The Royals doubled up the Brewers by a score of 10-5 in Arizona League action. Javi Salas made a rehab start for Maryvale and gave up three runs in an inning of work. Carlos Herrera followed and took the loss. Jay Feliciano finished 2-for-4 for the Brewers while Jose Gomez reached base three times and Mario Feliciano and Trey York each added a double.

DSL Rockies 8, DSL BREWERS 2

In the completion of a game started July 2nd, the Rockies defeated the Brewers by a score of 8-2. Joaquin De La Cruz started and worked a scoreless inning. Henry Medina took over when play resumed on Wednesday and was charged with the loss, giving up four runs over four innings. Moises Perez hit his third home run of the year while Jesus went 2-for-4 with a single and a double.

DSL Rockies 5, DSL BREWERS 3

The Rockies took game two of their doubleheader as well, knocking off the Brewers 5-3. Jenri Montas started and took the loss, giving up three runs on ten hits in 4.1 innings of work. Moises Perez doubled and walked while Marcos Pinero doubled for the only other Brewers hit of the game.
