SATURDAY’S RESULTS

Chicago Cubs 1, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 6

The Brewers scored two in the first and three in the eighth as they topped the Cubs 6-1 on Saturday night. Zach Davies got the start and earned the win, going 6.1 innings and giving up just one run to lower his ERA to 3.64. Kirk Nieuwenhuis led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs. Jonathan Lucroy also homered and Ryan Braun added a pair of hits.

Round Rock Express 4, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 5

The Sky Sox scored a run in the bottom of the 12th to walk off with a 5-4 win over Round Rock. Josh Hader started and went six innings, giving up two runs. David Goforth worked the final inning and a third and picked up the victory. Keon Broxton led the offense, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a triple while Nate Orf, Garin Cecchini and Manny Pina each collected two hits.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 3, Pensacola Blue Wahoos 7

Biloxi fell to .500 on the season at 49-49 with a 7-3 loss to Pensacola. Brooks Hall got the starting nod and was charged with the loss, giving up five runs over five innings of work. Garrett Cooper led the Shuckers offense, going 4-for-5 while Tyrone Taylor added two hits and Gabriel Noriega chipped in a single and two walks.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 4, Charlotte StoneCrabs 5

Brevard scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but Charlotte answered with a run in the bottom of the eighth to walk off with a 5-4 victory in game one of their doubleheader. Bubba Derby started and went six innings, giving up three earned runs. Kender Villegas followed and was charged with the loss. Blake Allemand homered for the Manatees while George Iskenderian and Fidel Pena each added two hits.

BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 2, Charlotte StoneCrabs 3

Charlotte earned a sweep of their doubleheader with Brevard, taking game two by a score of 3-2. Eric Hanhold got the start and took the loss, going three innings and giving up three runs. George Iskenderian hit his fifth home run of the season for the Manatees with Corey Ray adding a double and a walk.

Lake County Captains 8, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 9

Lake County scored four runs in the top of the ninth to come from behind and take the lead, but Isan Diaz belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth, his second of the night, to walk the Rattlers off with a 9-8 win. Trey Supak started and worked five innings, giving up three earned runs. Alex Farina was credited with the win. Diaz finished 3-for-4 with a walk, a triple, two home runs and six runs batted in. Luis Aviles also hit two home runs and Troy Stokes finished 3-for-5 with a double.

Idaho Falls Chukars 9, HELENA BREWERS 2

Idaho Falls scored fourth in the fifth and four in the sixth as they rolled over Helena 9-2. Cameron Roegner got the start and took the loss, going 4.2 innings and giving up five runs, four earned. Weston Wilson reachedbasein all five plate appearances for the Brewers, going 3-for-3 with a pair of walks while Nathan Rodriguez finished 2-for-3 with a double and two walks.

AZL BREWERS 4, AZL Giants 6

The Giants scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh as they clipped the Giants 6-4. Javi Salas got the start and worked an inning and two-thirds, giving up four runs, three earned. Emerson Gibbs allowed two runs over four innings and was charged with the loss. Chad McClanahan went 2-for-5 with his second home run while Zach Clark and Trey York each had three-hit games.

DSL Tigers 8, DSL BREWERS 0

The Brewers committed seven errors and were shutout by the Tigers, losing by a score of 8-0. Joaquin De La Cruz started and took the loss, going six inning and giving up four runs, though none were earned. Antonio Pinero and Luis Manon each finished with two hits for the Brewers while Melvin Mendez and Luis Avalo each added a single.
