SATURDAY’S RESULTS

Pittsburgh Pirates 3, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 5

The Brewers scored two in the seventh and one in the eighth, then held on for a 5-3 win over the Pirates on Saturday night. Chase Anderson got the start and earned the win, going five innings and giving up just one unearned run. Jeremy Jeffress recorded his 26th save. Hernan Perez led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run. Kirk Nieuwenhuis also homered while Scooter Gennett and Keon Broxton chipped in two hits each.

Oklahoma City Dodgers 8, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 4

Oklahoma City scored four runs in the second inning and went on to double up Colorado Springs 8-4. Hiram Burgos started and took the loss, giving up five runs over four innings. Orlando Arcia belted his eighth home run of the year for the Sky Sox while Nate Orf and Garin Cecchini each added a double.

Mobile BayBears 5, BILOXI SHUCKERS 4

Biloxi rallied for three runs in the ninth, but it wasn’t quite enough as they fell to Mobile 5-4. Jorge Lopez started and took the loss, going five innings and giving up two runs. Chris McFarland finished 2-for-2 and knocked in a pair of runs. Brett Phillips and Gabriel Noriega each added two base hits and Angel Ortega contributed a double.

Charlotte StoneCrabs 6, BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES 4

Charlotte scored a run in the seventh and another in the ninth as they defeated Brevard County by a score of 6-4. Kodi Medeiros got the start and went five innings, giving up three earned runs. Gage Smith followed and took the loss, giving up one run over three innings of work. Clint Coulter finished 2-for-3 with a pair of triples while Corey Ray, George Iskenderian, Wendell Rijo and Elvis Rubio each singled and drew a walk.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 0, Peoria Chiefs 1

The Timber Rattlers were shutout by Peoria losing 1-0 in the first game of their series with the Chiefs. Thomas Jankins started on the mound and was charged with the loss after giving up just one run over four innings of work. Troy Stokes and Lucas Erceg each finished 2-for-4 with a double and catcher Max McDowell also added a double.

HELENA BREWERS 12, Missoula Osprey 21

Helena dropped a slugfest to Missoula, falling by a score of 21-12. Gentry Fortuno got the start for the Brewers and was roughed up for eight runs over two innings. Rodrigo Benoit gave up nine in 2.1 innings and was charged with the loss. Ronnie Gideon led the offense, going 2-for-4 with two home runs. Yerald Martinez and Wes Wilson each added a home run and Trever Morrison chipped in two hits.

AZL BREWERS 9, AZL Indians 3

The Brewers scored nine runs over the first four innings as they cruised to a 9-3 win over the Indians. Carlos Herrera started and got the win, going six innings and giving up two runs. Mario Feleciano and Chad McClanahan each finished with three hits for the Brewers while Gabriel Garcia and Jose Gomez each went 2-for-5 with a home run.

DSL Yankees2 6, DSL BREWERS 4

The Brewers managed four runs on just four hits but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Yankees 6-4. Joaquin De La Cruz started and took the loss, going 5.2 innings and giving up five runs, four earned. Edwin Sano reached base three times, going 1-for-3 with a pair of walks while Luis Avalo added a double and Javier Castillo and Jose Pena each chipped in a single.
