WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS

St. Louis Cardinals 1, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 3

The Brewers snapped their losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Cardinals at Miller Park on Wednesday night. Matt Garza started and went seven innings to pick up the win with Tyler Thornburg notching the save. Kirk Nieuwenhuis went 2-for-4 with a home run while Jonathan Villar and Ryan Braun each added a double.

New Orleans Zephyrs 3, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 11

Colorado Springs moved back to within a game of .500 as they beat up on New Orleans 11-3. Starting pitcher Hiram Burgos went six innings, allowing just one runs to pick up the win. Lewis Brinson led the Sky Sox offense, going 4-for-5 with two doubles. Garin Cecchini had three hits and drove in four runs while Garrett Cooper added his fourth home run.

Jackson Generals 0, BILOXI SHUCKERS 2

Four Biloxi pitchers combined to shutout Jackson on just one hit as the Shuckers topped the Generals 2-0. Angel Ventura got the start and earned the win, tossing six scoreless innings. Stephen Kohlscheen recorded the save. Brett Phillips belted his 16th home run while Tyrone Taylor added a pair of hits and a walk.

Clearwater Threshers, BREVARD COUNTY MANTEES (Cancelled, Rain)

Brevard County and Clearwater had their game rained out on Wednesday evening. It will not be made up.

Cedar Rapids Kernels 2, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 3

Wisconsin got three runs in the first inning and held on to edge Cedar Rapids 3-2. Conor Harber got the start and earned the win, going five and allowing just an unearned run. Nate Griep recorded the final four outs for his 23rd save. Jake Gatewood went 2-for-4 with a double and Lucas Erceg hit his seventh home run since joining the Rattlers.

Missoula Osprey 15, HELENA BREWERS 11

Helena scored nine runs in the eighth inning, but it wasn’t enough as they dropped a slugfest to Missoula 15-11. Rodrigo Benoit started and took the loss, going 3.1 innings and giving up eight runs. Yerald Martinez, Ronnie Gideon and Ryan Aguilar all homered for the Brewers with Gilbert Lara and Franly Mallen adding two hits each.
