FRIDAY’S RESULTS

MILWAUKEE BREWERS 1, Pittsburgh Pirates 0

The Brewers edged the Pirates 1-0 in Pittsburgh on Friday night. Junior Guerra started and worked 3.1 scoreless innings. Blaine Boyer earned the win with Tyler Thornburg notching the save. Scooter Gennett doubled and drove in a run while Kirk Nieuwenhuis added a single and a walk.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 2, Iowa Cubs 3

The Sky Sox scored two runs in the top of the ninth but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Iowa 3-2. Josh Hader got the start and took the loss, going three innings and giving up two runs. Garrett Cooper finished 2-for-4 and Garin Cecchini added a single and a walk in four trips to the plate.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 0, Mississippi Braves 10

Biloxi was shutout on one hit as they lost to Mississippi by a score of 10-0. Jon Perrin made his first Double-A start and took the loss after giving up ten runs over three and a third innings. Javier Betancourt singled for the lone Shuckers hit and Brett Phillips drew a walk for the team’s only other base runner.

Daytona Tortugas 3, BREVARD COUNTY MANTEES 4

The Manatees scored four runs in the third as they earned a rare victory, knocking off Daytona 4-3. Devin Williams got the start and the win, going 5.2 innings and allowing just two earned runs. Jon Olczak picked up the save. Blake Allemand had three hits and Corey Ray added two hits and a walk.

Cedar Rapids Kernels 5, WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 4

Cedar Rapids scored a run in the top of the 16th inning as they edged Wisconsin 5-4. Jordan Desguin got the start and went 7.1 innings, allowing four runs. Matt Smith gave up a run over two innings of relief and took the loss. Monte Harrison led the offense with three hits and Jake Gatewood added a pair of doubles.

HELENA BREWERS 11, Missoula Osprey 1

Helena scored six runs in the third inning as they rolled over Missoula 11-1. Emerson Gibbs started and got the win, going five and allowing one run while striking out ten. Aaron Myers worked the final four scoreless for the save. Demi Orimoloye hit his fifth home run of the year while Weston Wilson added three hits and Gilbert Lara drove in three runs.
